AirGATE Technologies Announces Filing of Patent on Antenna Calibration; Antenna Application Alerts Users of Change in Antenna Orientation.DALLAS -- AirGATE Technologies today announced the filing of a patent to monitor the orientation and operation of antenna systems deployed as part of RFID implementations. The system, part of the Company's Matrix Analytic Engine(TM), collects Reader Calibration calibration /cal·i·bra·tion/ (kal?i-bra´shun) determination of the accuracy of an instrument, usually by measurement of its variation from a standard, to ascertain necessary correction factors. Events/Information (RCE RCE - Radio Control Equipment RCE - Random Coding Exponent RCE - Realtor Certified Executive (Associations of REALTORS) RCE - Recurrent Corneal Erosion RCE - Regional Center of Excellence RCE - Regional Coding Enhancement (DVDs) RCE - Regional Consulting Engineer RCE - Registered Civil Engineer RCE - Rehabilitation Counselor Education RCE - Remote Channel Extender RCE - Remote Controller Equipment RCE - Request for Continuing Examining), including reader ID, Antenna ID, last seen time and read count. From different input sources, the system collects dimension units relative to a reference position. By varying the reference position and the dimension units, a matrix is created during the calibration phase of site implementation. Tabulated data is created by these input sources. The Calibration Engine (CE) can be stand-alone within a single reader antennae set or across multiple reader antennae sets. While the Matrix Analytic Engine is running, it checks with CE for validation in a near-failure or failure of the system. A "re-calibration" process can be setup separately or real-time through inter-node signaling communications among different engines. Profiles/History of these calibrations is archived and is used in any subsequent implementation phases. "Antenna orientation is critical to correct RFID tag reading," stated Ivan Chow, VP Software Solutions at AirGATE Technologies. "After initial antenna installation, any number of things could affect antenna calibration. AirGATE will be demonstrating the system, as well as its other technologies, at RFID World, March 2nd and 3rd, in its hospitality suite at the Gaylord Texan.
