AirFiber Partners With Comsyst to Bring End-to-End High-Bandwidth Services to Australia; Comsyst Selected as First VAR of AirFiber's OptiMesh Wireless Optical Networking Products.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2000

AirFiber Inc., a telecommunications equipment supplier, today announced an agreement with Comsyst Pty Ltd PTY LTD Propriety Limited (company structure in Australia) . that will extend distribution of AirFiber's wireless optical networking Communications between computers, telephones and other electronic devices using light. An optical network is far more reliable and has far greater potential transmission capacity than networking in the electrical domain. See optical fiber.  products.

Under the terms of the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreement, Comsyst will distribute AirFiber's OptiMesh(TM) products to customers in Australia. The OptiMesh products will provide networks' solutions for carriers in offering end-to-end, high-bandwidth access from the backbone to the end-user.

AirFiber's OptiMesh network equipment is a carrier-grade communications system In telecommunication, a communications system is a collection of individual communications networks, transmission systems, relay stations, tributary stations, and data terminal equipment (DTE) usually capable of interconnection and interoperation to form an integrated whole.  that allows providers to offer true high-bandwidth (622 Mbps) fiber-like access at a fraction of the cost and time required to install fiber to buildings.

The OptiMesh network is based on wireless optical networking technology, which has the ability to deliver broadband access See broadband and wireless broadband.  over the air-for-voice, data and multimedia services. AirFiber's network, based on a highly redundant short-link "mesh" or multiple point-to-point architecture, ensures carrier-grade reliability of 99.999 percent availability even in the most severe weather conditions.
