Air2Web Trials Multimedia Messaging to Corporate Customers.

Air2Web, the leading wireless platform provider, has successfully integrated Air2Web's Mobile Internet Platform with Nokia's Multimedia Messaging Center (MMSC) which enables sending multimedia messages from Air2Web's Atlanta-based servers to Nokia Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) servers located in Dallas, TX and Hong Kong.

Trials are underway with major carriers in the US and Latin America. MMS applications use a rich combination of text, audio, graphics, image, animation and video.

Air2Web has already integrated MMS capabilities into the wireless applications of several of its premier content providers such as The Weather Channel. These applications contain graphics depicting the daily weather forecasts, photo images of severe weather, etc.

Using Air2Web's unique ability to separate content from the transport and presentation layers, the Mobile Internet Platform (MIP) renders MMS content intelligently across all device types. When users have MMS-capable devices, the MIP recognizes the differences in how MMS is supported and renders the application appropriately for each device; when users have text-enabled phones, the MIP strips out unsupported content and delivers SMS messages or voice messages; for users with analog or landline phone devices, delivery is limited to the audio channel only.
