Air2Web Releases Cross-Carrier Group Messaging Application; P2P Mobile Messaging Profits Not Just for Carriers Anymore.

ATLANTA -- Air2Web, the leading provider of mobile messaging and marketing applications, today announced its release of iTexter, a private-labeled group messaging application that enables wireless subscribers to create mobile groups and communicate instantly with the entire group at once across all major network carriers.

The ability to send a single message to a group of recipients is indicative of mobile messaging forecasts from Portio Research that predict SMS (1) (Storage Management System) Software used to routinely back up and archive files. See HSM.

(2) (Systems Management Server) Systems management software from Microsoft that runs on Windows NT Server.
volumes will continue to rise steadily over the next five years--reaching 2.38 trillion messages and $50 billion in revenue by 2010. And while this is good news for network carriers, group messaging also has profitable implications for enterprises and content providers.

In 2005, simple SMS messages SMS message SMS n(message m) SMS m  accounted for 63 percent ($35 billion) of the total messaging market. "iTexter is the first application of its kind that enables enterprises to capitalize on Cap´i`tal`ize on`

the growing person-to-person (P2P See peer-to-peer and point-to-point. ) messaging market, an area of tremendous profit that until now, has been reserved for wireless carriers," said Dale Gonzalez, Chief Technology Officer at Air2Web.

iTexter is based on short code technology, making it easy for group members to send and reply to messages. Groups can be created directly from a wireless device or a PC, and group names are stored in mobile address books for quick reference. The application also features an opt-in-only membership that supports federal SPAM regulations.

iTexter is simple to use; a few keystrokes and group members are sending messages to each other. This simplicity makes it an ideal communications vehicle for all audiences--from teens to business colleagues. However, the elevated message traffic will impact more than carrier SMS volumes. "The viral potential of group messaging applications is invaluable to carriers, enterprises and content providers," said Alfredo Narez, Vice President of Marketing at Air2Web. "The ease of use will have a monumental mon·u·men·tal

Because it is fast, readily adopted, and viral, permitting users to forward messages to a broader audience, iTexter elevates text messaging Sending short messages to a smartphone, pager, PDA or other handheld device. Text messaging implies sending short messages generally no more than a couple of hundred characters in length.  to a new level."
