Passengers increased 5.4 percent over the same period in 1994. It is equal to the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown. This measures an airlines capacity for transporting passengers.  increased 59.4 percent from the same month in 1994. As a result, the passenger load factor for the month was 59.8 percent compared to 55.9 percent for August 1994, an increase of 3.9 points.
