Air Vice Marshals Waseem ud din and Muhammad Hassan Promoted.ISLAMABAD, 28 May, 2009 (Frontier Star) -- Government has promoted Air Vice Marshals Waseem ud din and Muhammad Hassan to the rank of Air Marshal. Air Marshal Waseem ud din was commissioned in Pakistan Air Force Pakistan Air Force (Urdu: پاک فضائیہ, Pak Faza'ya) is the Aviation branch of the Pakistan armed forces and is responsible for defending Pakistani air-space from intrusions. on 07 October, 1977 in Flying Branch. He is an accomplished fighter pilot with rich experience on F-16s and Mirages. He is a graduate of Combat Commanders' School. During his career he has held various command and staff appointments. He has commanded a fighter squadron, a fighter wing and an Operational Air Base. The Air Marshal has served as Director Operations, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) and Additional Director General Air Force Strategic Command. At senior staff assignments, the Air Marshal has held the appointments of Director General Air Force Strategic Command and Air Officer Commanding Air Officer Commanding (AOC) is a title given in the air forces of Commonwealth (and some other) nations to an air officer who holds a command appointment. Thus, an air vice marshal might be the AOC 38 Group. Air Defence Command. Presently he is serving as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff

He has also served as a flying instructor at PAF Academy Risalpur. He has held the appointments of Director Plans, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff The Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (ACAS) is a senior appointment in the Royal Air Force. The incumbent is in practical terms the deputy to the head of the RAF, the Chief of the Air Staff. (Operations) and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) at Air Headquarters. At senior staff assignments, the Air Marshal has served as Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy, Risalpur and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training).
