America L.P. will increase schedule prices for all bulk and cylinder products in liquid and gaseous form in Hawaii, effective January 1, 2005. Air Liquide America will also remove discounts from schedules for bulk and compressed gases as of this date, or will remove them as customer contracts allow. Schedule prices for bulk products will increase by 12% and cylinder products by 4% to 12%. Delivery fees will increase as well, with the amount depending on geography.

This increase will impact customers in all markets, including industrial, medical, welding, electronics, food & beverage, and specialty gas markets.

"Significant increases in shipping costs and record high prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, in combination with steel surcharges have forced us to increase schedule prices," said Colin Gerrard, Region Manager for Hawaii, noting that container rates in the Pacific have risen by 7 percent per container since the start of 2004 and gasoline prices rising to $2.66 per gallon in the Hawaiian Islands. "Air Liquide America is working hard to improve its distribution resources and supply systems in order to lessen the impact these increased costs will have on customers."
