in Jamaica. Under terms of the special baggage allowance, Air Jamaica passengers traveling to Jamaica during the period September 15-22, 2004 may carry one extra piece of baggage without penalty. This is in addition to the two pieces normally permitted.

"We already offer the most flexible and generous baggage policy of any airline serving the Caribbean, but in light of the current situation in Jamaica, we feel that it's important to go the extra mile as part of our relief effort," said Michael Going, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Air Jamaica.

In addition to allowing the industry standard - two pieces of luggage and a carry-on bag - Air Jamaica does not restrict passengers from including boxes as checked luggage, a provision unique among airlines serving the Caribbean.

Other special initiatives launched by Air Jamaica as part of the carrier's Hurricane Ivan Relief Effort include the following:

Relaxed Ticket-Change Policy

Air Jamaica recently extended the deadline for re-ticketing due to Hurricane Ivan to September 30, 2004 (the previous deadline had been September 15, 2004). Air Jamaica passengers booked to travel by September 30, 2004 may defer their trips without penalty. Air Jamaica will issue travel vouchers equal to the total value of the original booking for flights to any Air Jamaica destination. Vouchers may be redeemed for travel to be completed up to one (1) year from the date the voucher is issued. Passengers have 21 days from the original date of travel to request vouchers.
