Air Force print news (March 15, 2005): officials announce interim acquisition executive.

 -- Peter B. Teets, acting secretary of the Air Force, has named a new interim member to the Air Force acquisition and management community's leadership team.

He has also been delegated the authority to carry out all nonspace-related acquisition and procurement The fancy word for "purchasing." The procurement department within an organization manages all the major purchases.  duties of the assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition.

Beyland will serve in the interim position until the position is filled or the secretary or acting secretary of the Air Force directs otherwise.

Before his new duties, Beyland served as director of the Air Force Personnel Operations Agency and at the plans and integration division for the Air Force deputy chief of staff for personnel. He entered federal service in 1981.
