Judge Albert V. Bryan Jr. ordered a 10-day temporary restraining order after hearing arguments from attorneys representing Hughes and the government.

A hearing to determine whether or not the temporary restraining order should be extended until the Hughes protest of the JASSM awards is resolved by the General Accounting Office (GAO) has been scheduled for July 19 before Judge Bryan in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria.

Hughes said it reluctantly filed a motion for a temporary restraining order Tuesday (July 9) to protect its legal rights. The Air Force did not issue ``stop work'' orders as required by the Competition in Contracting Act when the company filed its protest.

``Every day that work would have continued on the JASSM program is a day that would have provided unfair advantage to the current awardees,'' the company spokesman said.
