Air Evac Lifeteam Issues Statement on Company Operations During Hurricane Katrina Rescue Efforts.

In response to numerous media inquiries, Air Evac Lifeteam, a rural provider of air ambulance air ambulance Emergency medicine A helicopter or, less commonly, a fixed wing aircraft, used to evacuate a person who requires immediate medical attention that cannot be provided at his/her current location  services, reports that it has put eight of its helicopters in service in Louisiana and Mississippi to assist in the medical evacuation of critically ill patients from medical facilities damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Air Evac is not only providing the transportation, but also finding receiving hospitals able and willing to take the patients it is transporting.

In the last two days Air Evac has successfully placed 45 patients and expects to continue its efforts as long as they are needed. Air Evac is working thorough local emergency management agencies in both states to identify medical evacuation needs.
