Air China Launches New Beijing-Sapporo Service.BEIJING -- Chinese flag carrier Air China will open a new non-stop service between the capital city of Beijing, its hub, and the northern Japanese city of Sapporo. The service will start on April 18. Sapporo, the main city on the northern island of Hokkaido, will be Air China's seventh destination in Japan. Air China presently offers more than 230 weekly flights between China and Japan, connecting China to the six major Japanese cities: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sendai, and Hiroshima. The new service (flight CA169/170) will be offered twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The outbound CA169 will depart Beijing at 8:00 a.m., arriving Sapporo at 1:00 p.m. Returning flight CA170 will depart Sapporo at 2:00 p.m., arriving back in Beijing at 5:00 p.m. (all times local). In addition to its own service, Air China code-shares with Japan's All Nippon Airways on routes between the two countries.
