Air China Adds Capacity to Beijing-Madrid-Sao Paulo Service with New A330 Aircraft.BEIJING -- Air China now flies a new A330 aircraft on its unique service from Beijing to Madrid, Spain, continuing to Sao Paulo, Brazil, from June 17. The new aircraft, featuring Air China's business and economy class service, is one of Air China's fleet of nine modern Airbus A330 aircraft, offering the best in contemporary comfort, seating, and aircraft economics on this important route. "We are pleased to dedicate one of our new Airbus A330s to the Beijing-Madrid-Sao Paulo route," said Mrs. Zhang Lan, Senior Vice President for Air China. Our long-haul passengers to Spain and Brazil will enjoy the comfort and features of the A330 in our premium and economy classes of service, and we are glad to increase capacity on the route by using this larger, modern aircraft." Only last December Air China initiated this new service from Beijing to Sao Paulo via the Spanish capital, and within six months the airline has upgraded from a smaller Boeing 767-300 aircraft. This route is the world's only direct, same-plane air service between China and Brazil, and is Air China's first route connecting three continents. Air China's newly delivered A330s feature on-demand audio and video throughout the aircraft. The premium business class cabin offers lie-flat seats with default, fine-tuning, and memory functions for ease and heightened comfort, as well as 10.6-inch personal televisions. Air China's new A330s also feature 100V AC outlets in all business seats and offer multi-media, network, and varied programming to economy travelers. As China's sole designated flag carrier and the Airline Partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Air China (HKEX: 0753; LSE: AIRC; SSE: 601111) serves 78 domestic and 39 international cities with an extensive network from its Beijing hub, conveniently linking passengers between China and destinations around the world.
