It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  marketplace.

To enhance performance, subnets limit the number of nodes that compete for available bandwidth.  roaming, called Soft Roaming(TM), and other wireless awareness functions for IP and access point, Air Broadband is one of the first companies to offer a wireless switch that can handle the vast traffic demands of large scale 802.11 environments. "We are very excited to enter the diverse South Asian market with our Airobatics product line which makes wireless LAN truly mobile and scalable," says Air Broadband Sales VP Francis Hine, "With Stream Networks' capabilities to deliver mobile solutions and mobile infrastructure through their partners, we can together address both enterprise and service provider markets. "Air Broadband switches for wireless networks opens an uncharted paradigm for solutions to problems not yet recognized. No one has thought of deploying fast Wi-Fi for truly mobile users. Likewise, no one thought it possible to propagate video, voice and data through the simple Wi-Fi clients prevalent in the market today. For telco's and WISP's, the ability to remotely track, monitor and diagnose access points is a blessing. In essence, true seamless mobile access and management.

The end user industry is as diverse as the product itself -- not only is there market in the transportation and security industry, Air Broadband switches can be used in campus, in enterprise, in hospitals and even in casino's. We believe the availability of the hardware and Air Broadband's superior NOC (Network Operations Center) A central or regional location for monitoring a large network. Also called a "network management center" (NMC), "service management center" (SMC) or "network control center" (NCC), a NOC may be used to manage a large enterprise network,  software called AWACS AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System)
