A CHARITY which helps people recover from divorce is looking for people to help set up a group in Huddersfield.

Divorce Recovery Workshop (DRW) is a national charity which supports people after divorce or separation.

It has 40 workshops across the UK, trying to help the 300,000 people affected by marriage breakdown.

DRW wants to set up more workshops in Yorkshire and to do that, volunteers are needed.

Heidi Twilley, from DRW, said: "There are currently less than 40 workshops available in the UK."

The charity's website shows the nearest workshops at present to be in Leeds and Harrogate.

Heidi said: "You may be able to help people in your local community to start a support group.

"Our primary aim with these workshops is to help people coming to terms with the grief and the emotional roller coaster after divorce and for participants to be 'grow through divorce' not just go through it."

DRW runs courses to train people to help others going through separation, so that they can set up a support group in their own area.

The courses are designed to allow volunteers to help people of any age at any stage of separation or divorce.

Six sections make up the course:

'Is this really happening to me?'

'Coping with your ex-spouse'

'Assuming new responsibilities'

'Family matters'

'Letting go and forgiveness'

'Thinking about new relationships'.

All of the people who run the courses and attend the workshops are either divorced or separated.
