Aiming to play a huge role.

Last week we reiterated our main objectives derived from affiliation to Supporters Direct Supporters Direct is a British government initiative, funded by public money, with offices in London and Glasgow, aiming to help people "who wish to play a responsible part in the life of the football club they support".  and the Football Supporters Federation.

Supporters Direct is the Government-funded initiative whose aim is to help people "who wish to play a responsible part in the life of the (football) club they support."

This has resulted in the following achievements:

* Over 120 Supporters' Trusts across England, Wales and Scotland.

* 61 Supporters' Trusts hold equity within their football clubs.

* 39 Football clubs have supporter representation within the boards of their football clubs.

* Supporters' ownership or control at four football league clubs (Brentford, Chesterfield, Rushden & Diamonds and Stockport County).

* Supporters' ownership at eight non-League clubs (York City, Exeter City, AFC (1) (Application Foundation Classes) A class library from Microsoft that provides an application framework and graphics, graphical user interface (GUI) and multimedia routines for Java programmers.  Wimbledon, AFC Telford, Newport (IOW "In other words." ), Enfield Town, FC United of Manchester and Clydebank).

As we reported recently, the prediction is that the majority of football clubs in this country will be Trust-owned by 2020.

This Trust hopes to be ready to play its part when the time comes Adv. 1. when the time comes - at the appropriate time; "we'll get to this question in due course"

.

It's worth noting as well that Supporters Trusts are not limited to football clubs.

There is an increasing number of Trusts in other codes, most notably Rugby League - the nearest example being Halifax, where there are Trusts for both the football and rugby league clubs.
