THE Telegraph's Gift of Life campaign ties in with the British Transplant Games Transplant Games Sports medicine An Olympic competition open to transplant recipients. Cf Paralympics, Special Olympics.  which are being held in Coventry in the summer.

And the aim of both is to get people to sign up to the NHS NHS

 Organ Donor organ donor Transplantation A person/cadaver that donates his/her  organ(s) to a recipient  Register - a simple thing which could save a life.

Our target is to get 19,000 people in Coventry and Warwickshire to sign up to the register by September. Signing up could mean giving the gift of life to someone in desperate need of help.

There are about 10,000 people waiting for organ transplants in the UK, 500 of whom are in the West Midlands which includes Coventry and Warwickshire.

Many will die waiting.

You can help our campaign and perhaps transform someone's life, by signing up to the Organ Donor Register. Phone 0845 6060 400, lines are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, or visit the website www.
