) digital media processors. Porting the Aimetis' algorithms to TI's DM64x(TM) digital media processor makes IVS more scalable and affordable to the mass market.

Using TI's high performance DM64x digital medial processor, Aimetis' computer vision algorithms can be embedded directly on the edge devices, such as video cameras, recorders and encoders. Having Aimetis intelligence reside directly on video hardware will reduce the need for a centralized server and reduce the hardware requirements for an intelligent security system. End users benefit from higher performance and better bandwidth utilization.

"Several video hardware manufacturers have expressed a high level of interest in our intelligent video surveillance software applications," said Marc Holtenhoff, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "With our innovative algorithms running on TI's powerful digital media processors, Aimetis now makes it possible for them to bring intelligent video surveillance capabilities to the mass market."

Aimetis' award-winning technology, which is based on artificial intelligence called "computer vision", analyzes incoming video against user-defined security policies or rules. When an event violates a policy, for example, a person enters a restricted area or a vehicle parks in a forbidden area, Aimetis can alert a security agent via email or SMS (1) (Storage Management System) Software used to routinely back up and archive files.
