Aicent MMS Hub Reaches 100 Destinations; Provides Largest MMS Interconnection Footprint for Global Mobile Operators.


SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Aicent Inc., a leading provider of mobile data network services and solutions for global mobile operators, today announced that it has reached a significant milestone by offering the largest number of destinations for Multimedia Messaging Service See MMS.  (MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) An enhanced transmission service that enables graphics, video clips and sound files to be transmitted via cellphones. Developed as part of the 3GPP project, MMS phones are generally backward compatible with SMS and EMS. ) exchange among global mobile operators. As of today, over 100 operator destinations are already commercially available from Aicent, and another 40 are currently in testing and soon to be launched commercially.

Offered in 2003 as one of the first MMS hub services, Aicent's MMS Gateway Service continues to provide best-in-class one-stop interconnections for mobile operators. All of Aicent MMS destinations are two-way exchange routes, which span the globe across Asia Pacific, Europe, Americas, Middle East, and Africa, including more than half of the world's 100 largest operators.
