Aicent Bolsters Executive Team to Focus on Convergence of Applications with Mobile Phones (''A2P''); Eric Weiss Appointed Senior Vice President of Mobile Applications.


SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Aicent, Inc., a leading provider of mobile data network services and solutions for mobile operators worldwide, today announced that Eric Weiss has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Applications. He has more than 15 years of management, marketing and business development experience in the telecommunications, Internet services and software industries.

Weiss will lead Aicent's delivery of services that enable consumer and enterprise content and applications to reach up to 500 million mobile subscribers in Aicent's global network. Worldwide, there are four times as many mobile handsets as PCs. Mobile handsets are therefore an increasingly important channel to reach consumers and enterprise users. This convergence of applications with mobile phones, or Application-to-Person ("A2P A2P Application to Person

"), is a fast growing segment of the multibillion dollar mobile data services market.

Weiss brings a wealth of expertise managing telecom and technology companies to his position with Aicent. Most recently, he was Vice President of Telecom Solutions at Macromedia (now Adobe), where he was responsible for product marketing, engineering and strategy.
