Ahsan Iqbal's statement detrimental to politics, democracy: Farzana Raja.

ISLAMABAD, August 31, 2009 (Frontier Star): The leader of PPPP and chairperson BISP (Benazir Income Support Program), Farzana Raja has strongly criticized Ahsan Iqbal's statement as detrimental to politics and democracy. Talking to a private TV channel, she scoffed at the notion of a major political party to indulge in cheap acts like blame game. Something quite detrimental and a hindrance to the reconciliation efforts of President Asif Ali Zardari and PM, Yousaf Raza Gillani. She said that such statements and actions only make one suspicious about the ambitious motives of the person making such statements. Accusing Mian Nawaz Sharif of being the first to violate the Charter of Democracy (CoD), after he left ARD (Alliance for Restoration of Democracy), for APDM (All Parties Democratic Movement). She said that in total contrast, President and PM, both had shown magnanimity in discharging their commitments to CoD, by appointing Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad Khan as chairman PAC (Public Accounts Committee), while the rest of anti-PPPP members of various standing committees were also being tolerated patiently by PPPP. She said that advancement in the issue of forming a Parliamentary committee for repealing 17th Amendment and reconciliation were also part of the sagacious attitude of PPPP.
