Ahmadinejad Reiterates Iran's N. Rights.

Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday reiterated his country's inalienable right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, but meantime, underlined that Tehran would continue its cooperation with the UN nuclear agency.

"I will never negotiate for the nation's inalienable nuclear rights. Our stance in this regard is clear," Ahmadinejad told Iranian and foreign reporters in a press conference here in Tehran on Monday. "My today stance is the same stance I took before and after the (presidential) election. The issue of the nuclear energy is a finished case to us, but we continue our (nuclear) work within the framework of international laws and close interaction with the International Atomic Energy Agency International Atomic Energy Agency: see Atomic Energy Agency, International.

evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry. Asked to explain about an updated package of proposals Iran intends to offer to the six world powers in the near future in an effort to resolve the country's nuclear issue, President Ahmadinejad noted, "Our package for the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) is a response to their willingness to talk with Iran." Commenting upon the package's contents, the Iranian president said, "We have compiled the frameworks and topics of the talks. This is a firm policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for its interactions with all states and governments."
