Ahlstrom Corporation generated second quarter 2009 net sales Net Sales The amount a seller receives from the buyer after costs associated with the sale are deducted. Notes: This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight of 398.9 million [euro], a 14.4% decline compared to 12465.9 million for the same period last year but up 6.1% from the first quarter 2009. Net sales of the FiberComposites segment totaled 212.4 million [euro], representing 53% of the Group net sales. The segment's net sales saw a 17.4% drop from 257.0 million [euro] in the year-ago quarter. New sales declined 4% in the Advanced Nonwovens business area from 46.2 million [euro] to 443 million [euro]. In the Filtration filtration: see sewerage; water supply. Filtration The separation of solid particles from a fluidsolids suspension of which they are a part by passage of most of the fluid through a septum or membrane that retains most of the solids segment, net sales hit 269.5 million [euro], a 16.1% decrease from 82.9 million [euro] in the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, in the Glass and Industrial Nonwovens segment, net sales dove 32.9%, from 263.7 million [euro] in the second quarter of 2008 to 242.7 million [euro] in the second quarter of 2009. The Home and Personal Nonwovens segment recorded sales of 58.0 million [euro], compared to 67.0 million [euro] in the second quarter last year. |
