. Now 34, she has her own interior design business and is raising her six-year-old nephew Luke, whose mother Saoirse is an alcoholic free spirit 12 years Elizabeth's junior. Their mother wandered off years earlier and their father is a difficult, bitter man. Luke begins to talk to an invisible friend, Ivan, which terrifies the controlling Elizabeth, who thinks Luke is crazy, although all Luke and his imaginary friend Imaginary Friend may refer to:

 do is laugh and play. Eventually Elizabeth meets a handsome man named Ivan, whom she assumes is the father of one of Luke's friends. Ivan teaches Elizabeth to laugh and play. She even gets a job decorating a new hotel in town and meets Benjamin, the project manager, who is not imaginary. Luke must do what he always does after making people happy--move on to another assignment, even though this time he has lost his heart to a human. He must return to the land of Ekam Eveileb.

Obsolete.  mentioned on the jacket, John Lee reads Ivan's part. Both narrators have lovely Irish lilts. They bring to life this story of yearning and forgiveness. There are two obscenities and mentions of alcoholism alcoholism, disease characterized by impaired control over the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Alcoholism is a serious problem worldwide; in the United States the wide availability of alcoholic beverages makes alcohol the most accessible drug, and alcoholism is .
