Agrium Inc. to List on New York Stock Exchange.


CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1996--Agrium Inc. announced today that it has been cleared to file a listing application with the New York Stock Exchange New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

World's largest marketplace for securities. The exchange began as an informal meeting of 24 men in 1792 on what is now Wall Street in New York City.

) and the company expects to begin trading on the NYSE, under the symbol AGU AGU Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan

Agrium will voluntarily withdraw from the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, where its shares have been trading under the symbol AGMIF since May 5, 1995. In 1996, trading volumes on the Nasdaq have averaged about 174,000 shares daily.

Senior company officials expect to be present at the New York Stock Exchange at 7:00 am, Friday, Oct. 4, for a ceremony commemorating the initiation of trading.
