Agritalk ethanol pump tour hits the road. (FYI News & Notes).
Mike Adams, host of the nationally-syndicated radio show "AgriTalk," joined Kansas Farm Bureau and Kansas Corn Commission staff at the pumps of Dodge City Dodge City, city (1990 pop. 21,129), seat of Ford co., SW Kans., on the Arkansas River; inc. 1875. The distribution center for a wheat and livestock producing area, it also packs meat and makes agricultural implements. Laid out in 1872 near Fort Dodge (1864) on the old Santa Fe Trail, it flourished as a Santa Fe railhead and became a wild cow town; Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson were among those who helped to curb lawlessness., Kan., to promote ethanol-blended fuels. This was the latest stop on the Ethanol Pump Tour, which is sponsored nationally by the National Corn Growers Association. Motorists who selected ethanol at the Dodge City Quik Shop received full service, free t-shirts and discounted gas for their smart choice. "The more people who know about ethanol blends and use them on a daily basis, the better off we'll be economically and environmentally," Adams says.
