Agriculture, a world in harmony.

Sea to shining sea, America's landscapes are as diverse as its people. Land throughout the United States has many different purposes. It is used for schools, city skyscrapers, national parks, grazing cattle, growing crops and its rivers for fishing, dams and transporting cargo. The 2002 National Agriculture Day program celebrates America's diversity of landscapes and how agriculture sows them together and brings harmony to our great land.

Each year the National Agriculture Day program gathers members of the industry together in an effort to educate consumers about American agriculture. Focused on sharing how agriculture provides almost everything we eat, use and wear on a daily basis, the Ag Day program helps educate millions of consumers each year.

The planning has already begun for the 2002 celebration. NAMA chapters are planning regional and local celebrations. If your chapter is interested in celebrating National Agriculture Week, March 17-23, 2002, then contact Kathleen Montgomery at the national office to learn about opportunities to expand the program to your area. Your help is needed to share the story of agriculture with consumers and with a variety of communication campaigns and event ideas there is a fit for every chapter. Contact Kathleen Montgomery at (913) 491-1895 or at kathleenm@nama.org.

The National Agri-Marketing Association has always been a strong supporter of the National Ag Day program. As many of you may already be aware, the Ag Day program was actually an effort that began back in 1973 by NAMA members. The agricultural community engages tens of thousands of volunteers and organization to assist in the education of consumers about the exciting role agriculture plays in our modern lives. Join us March 17-23 and celebrate National Agriculture Week.
