Agri-Pulse Comm. buys Webster Comm. Corp.

Agri-Pulse Communications (Washington, D.C.) has acquired Webster Communications Corp. (Arlington, VA), the publisher of "Webster Agricultural Letter" from company founder James Webster. No terms were given.

Launched in 1994, the acquired newsletter was published twice a month and covered major policy issues, pending and passed legislation, and a wide range of topics that have an impact of the agricultural industry. The range of topics included immigration, farm subsidies, the influence of rural voters on national elections, USDA actions, federal international agreements, and corporate responsibility.

Agri-Pulse said the acquired newsletter is being merged with its "Agri-Pulse Newsletter," a weekly electronic newsletter that covers the agricultural industry with information on trade, renewable energy, and rural policy. Webster will continue to contribute his "Farm hands on the Potomac" section and produce an annual report on political action committee contributions from farm and food groups.

Agri-Pulse president Susan Wyant said "we will continue providing our subscribers with a weekly overview of key events as well as breaking news whenever it happens. 'Agri-Pulse' will also change its publication date to Wednesday morning of each week."
