Agranat Awarded US Patent For Embedded Web Server.
Agranat Systems Inc. of Maynard, Mass., received a patent on Oct. 26 for its "EmWeb" embedded Web server Web server software embedded within a hardware device such as a print server. It is widely used in a myriad of devices, because it allows access to the software via any Web browser, typically for configuring the device or obtaining reports. A growing number of options include a mini TCP/IP stack that doesn't require an OS, e-mail for device status notification, and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol.
