languages, Agnew Tech-II welcomed the challenge of translating and providing voice-over actors for the Tamil version of the aerospace giant's latest ethics training video.

"I have been in this business for 25 years and have handled several rare languages, but after all these years I had never had the opportunity to work with Tamil," said Agnew Tech-II president Irene Agnew.

"Considering the rarity of the language here in America, it was a challenge to find trained experts familiar enough with both Tamil and English, and trained in translation techniques to work with the material. On top of that, we needed to find people who could come to our recording studio, with the appropriate voice training and speaking quality, and record in Tamil."

TRW's video instructs employees as to the company's standards of ethical conduct and will be used to train new employees who have recently joined the firm from India. Agnew Tech-II will translate the video's script and provide voice-over actors who will then record the video's dialogue in Tamil.

One of the major languages of Southern India, where it is spoken by more than 38 million people, Tamil is one of the oldest languages on earth, with an alphabet approximately 1,500 years old. The age and complexity of Tamil, however, mirrors many of the languages Agnew Tech-II has handled in the past, such as Urdu, Lakota Sioux, Afrikaans, Swahili and Punjabi.

"We take a lot of pride in being able to say we can handle any language," said Agnew. "Every time a customer brings us a project in a rare language, I think of it as another test of our resourcefulness Resourcefulness
