Agnes G. (Meagher) Berkowicz, 88.

BLACKSTONE Agnes G. (Meagher) Berkowicz, 88, formerly of Blackstone St. died Wed. May 30 at Lydia Taft House after an illness. Her husband Walter C. Berkowicz died in 1982.

She is survived by a son, Walter J. Berkowicz of Woodstock CT; 2 daughters, Kathyrn Berkowicz and CarolAnn Berkowicz both of Whitinsville; 4 grandchildren, Brian, Emily, Michael and Julia; a sister, Virginia Greenhalgh of Blackstone and many nephews and nieces. She was sister of the late James Meagher, Charles Meagher, Catherine Meagher, Eleanor Hagan and a cousin Paul Meagher. Born in Millville on Sept. 26, 1918 she was the daughter of James and Mary (Buckley) Meagher. After the death of her mother, Agnes and her siblings were raised by their aunt Ester Meagher. She lived many years in Millville before moving to Blackstone.

Mrs. Berkowicz was a winder at several area textile companies and later worked at Tupperware in Blackstone. She was a member of St. Augustines Church in Millville and was a member of their St. Monicas Guild and various other church groups. She was an avid reader, enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and spending time with her family at the ocean.

Her funeral will be held Mon. June 4, from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Augustines Church 17 Lincoln St. Millville. Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sun. June 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Augustines Church, 17 Lincoln St. Millville, MA 01529.
