Agilent was awarded priority by the US Patent and Trademark Office's Board of Patent Appeals on February 19 in a proceeding to determine priority of invention between its 1998 patent application for AP-MALDI and the University of California's US Patent No. 5,965,884. Most of the University claims have been canceled.
