Agilent Technologies to Use IMS' Virtual Test Toolset in IC Test Application Development Centers.Business Editors BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2000 Integrated Measurement Systems' (Nasdaq:IMSC IMSC - Independent Model Space Control (NASA) IMSC - Information Management Steering Committee IMSC - Installation Management Steering Committee IMSC - Integrated Media Systems Center (University of Southern California) IMSC - Internal Market Support Committee (European Roundtable of Industrialists) IMSC - International Mobile Satellite Conference IMSC - Interworking Mobile Switching Center) Virtual Test Division and Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today announced that Agilent has purchased IMS' complete design-to-production virtual test toolset for each of Agilent's application development centers. IMS' virtual test toolset (Digital VirtualTester, TestDirect and TurboBridge) provides key technology that will enable Agilent to help IC manufacturers shave time off production ramp-up schedules and to generate, convert and migrate IC production test programs to the Agilent 93000 SOC Series. "Supplying each of our application development centers with IMS' complete suite of virtual test tools allows us to provide more comprehensive production support to new and existing Agilent customers," said Jon Weatherly, manager of Agilent's Development Center. "IMS' virtual test will help Agilent improve customers' ramp-up times for our 93000 SOC Series testers, saving them time and money." "Having our suite of virtual test tools present in each of Agilent's application development centers gives IMS the opportunity to help more companies than ever before achieve complete test development and debug earlier in the manufacturing process," said Roger Ball, general manager of IMS' Virtual Test Division. About IMS' Digital VirtualTester, TestDirect and TurboBridge Digital VirtualTester is the first automated test-productivity tool to allow test engineers to verify and debug IC test patterns and timing using a behavioral model for automated test equipment (ATE) at an engineering workstation. Digital VirtualTester uses test simulation to allow design engineers to initiate test development during the design process, while typically reducing test debug times by 50 percent or more. The results are reduced test costs and shorter overall IC product-development cycles. TestDirect, an advanced pattern generation program, provides test engineers with automatic generation of ATE patterns from the designer's original simulation environment. TestDirect plus TurboBridge allow the test engineer to leverage the IC designer's work by building the test database from the design database without requiring extensive modification and conditioning, preserving the design intent. This shortens the overall product development cycle, increasing customers' revenue potential and improving their time-to-market competitiveness.
