Agilent Technologies Standardizes On Synplicity's FPGA Synthesis Products; Companies Sign Two-Year Software Licensing Agreement.

Synplicity, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNP), a leading supplier of software for the design and verification of semiconductors for Internet infrastructure and other electronic devices, today announced that Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A), a leading provider of innovative technologies for communications and life sciences, intends to standardize on Synplicity's FPGA synthesis and ASIC prototyping products during the upcoming year. The companies have signed an agreement giving Agilent access to Synplicity's current products on a pay-per-user model. Through this agreement, Agilent designers can use Synplicity's Synplify(R), Synplify Pro(TM), Amplify(TM) Physical Optimizer(TM) and Certify(TM) products to obtain high quality of results and performance in their test, measurement and monitoring instruments, systems and solutions.

Under terms of the two-year agreement, Agilent will pay an annual fee for designers who access Synplicity software. The deal provides Agilent the flexibility to revise its software requirements after the first year, and includes provisions for peak-usage licenses and for access to software for additional users.
