:A) today announced that it has received two California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Governor's Awards in recognition of its contributions to people with disabilities.

The Employer of the Year award was presented to Agilent by the Governor's Committee for Employment of Disabled Persons to acknowledge the company's leadership in the community and contributions to the employment of people with disabilities. Agilent employee Patricia (Patty) O'Sullivan received the Governor's Trophy in acknowledgement of her many outstanding achievements in supporting and initiating programs for the disabled.

The committee highlighted Agilent's Diversity Made Real initiative, launched by the company's executive staff, including President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Ned Barnholt, in January 2001. The program is built on the foundation that diversity drives innovation and creativity -- and innovation and creativity drive growth and financial health. The Diversity Made Real initiative encourages all employees to rise to their highest level of leadership and contribution, eliminating barriers.

O'Sullivan also created and implemented the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Employee Network Forums to provide networking, skill building and career development.
