Agilent Technologies Names Robert Herbold, Microsoft Executive, to Board of Directors.

: A) has named Robert J. Herbold to its board of directors. Herbold, executive vice president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

 of Microsoft Corporation, is the ninth board appointment at the diversified technology company recently spun off from Hewlett-Packard Company.

Herbold joined Microsoft in November 1994, where he is currently responsible for worldwide operations, including finance, manufacturing and distribution, human resources, information systems, and corporate services. He is also a member of Microsoft's Business Leadership Team, which shares responsibility for broad strategic and business planning for the entire company.
