:A) today announced that it has formed the Storage Networking Division to focus on the fast-growing storage area networking (SAN) market. The division will initially focus on Fibre Channel technology, where Agilent has established a strong position through its IC and board-level products. It will also focus on emerging technologies such as InfiniBand and IP SAN that promise to be important standards for the storage market.

Industry veteran Julian Elliott has been named vice president and general manager of the new division after leading Agilent's SAN efforts for the past four years. Elliott reports to Bill Sullivan, senior vice president and general manager of Agilent's Semiconductor Products Group. Elliott has more than 15 years experience in the computer and storage market, including stints as marketing manager for Hewlett-Packard Company's Personal Computer Group and as vice president of Marketing at BusLogic Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, Ga.; coeducational; state supported; chartered 1885, opened 1888. It is a member school in the university system of Georgia. Significant among its facilities and programs are the Frank H.  and a master's of business administration from Stanford University Stanford University, at Stanford, Calif.; coeducational; chartered 1885, opened 1891 as Leland Stanford Junior Univ. (still the legal name). The original campus was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. David Starr Jordan was its first president. .

Agilent SAN Solutions

Agilent is a leading supplier of Fibre Channel solutions for the rapidly expanding SAN market, providing industry-leading Tachyon tachyon (tăk`ēŏn'), hypothetical elementary particle that travels only at speeds exceeding that of light.
