:A), a leading provider of innovative technologies for communications and life sciences, today announced that Agilent Firehunter/e-Commerce has been named the best new product of 2000 in the E-Commerce Management and Analysis category of eWEEK's first "eXcellence Awards" program. The product was among 21 winners selected from nearly 1,000 entries submitted by more than 600 companies.

Firehunter/e-Commerce provides the industry's first solution for continuous real-time monitoring and reporting on e-commerce site performance and compliance with service level agreements. The product's monitoring capabilities include synthetic transactions that repeatedly test both the user's experience with the commerce application and the component services managed by institutions that host ISPs do not control, such as catalog look-up, credit verification and debiting, and ordering.

The application provides information on site availability, sales rate in dollars per minute, the time required for credit verification, peak business periods, the impact of peak usage on performance, and a variety of other metrics that offer a real-time view of typical Web site activities. It supplies independent corroboration of real-time business performance, including normal performance baselines and alerting thresholds.
