Agilent Technologies Announces Test Capabilities to Optimize Wireless Video Services and Quantify Subscriber Experience.CANNES, France -- Enables Wireless Service Providers to Improve QoS and Maximize Revenue Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :A) today introduced video testing capabilities for its Wireless Network Optimization Platform that enable RF engineering teams to quantify wireless user experience during video calls and help identify the cause of problems. By enabling a smooth introduction and ongoing maintenance of wireless video services, the solution helps service providers ensure high quality of service and maximum revenue. "Testing flexibility is a requirement in an industry where diverse service offerings are supported by a complex collection of multi-vendor devices, protocols and interfaces," said Tom Walls, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Telecommunication Systems Division. "With the platform's easy-to-use and customizable interface, RF engineers have the flexibility to build video tests into structured sequences. The solution enables simplified integration with other data service tests, such as MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) An enhanced transmission service that enables graphics, video clips and sound files to be transmitted via cellphones. Developed as part of the 3GPP project, MMS phones are generally backward compatible with SMS and EMS.
