: A), a leading provider of innovative technologies for communications and life sciences, today introduced new Agilent Advisor test software that provides network managers, engineers and technicians with the first comprehensive tool for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting advanced third-generation (3G) radio access networks. 3G represents the next generation of wireless networks, promising high-speed wireless voice, data, Internet and gaming services that far exceed current 2G wireless speeds.

The 3G UMTS W-CDMA supports high-speed ATM interfaces from 1.5 to 155 Mb/s, ensuring a sound ATM transport network foundation upon which higher protocol layers can be developed. It incorporates powerful capabilities for ATM, AAL-2 and AAL-5 layer testing, allowing ATM cell reception up to full line rates, assorted traffic generation profiles and statistics and counterviews.

The system adds wireless test to the extensive capabilities available with the Advisor family to meet the test needs of enterprise users, service providers and network equipment manufacturers. In addition to the new 3G test tools, the Advisor family offers solutions for:
-- LAN/WAN/ATM testing;

-- next-generation network testing;

-- frame relay testing; and

-- voice quality analysis for a range of voice applications.
