Agfa Support Assists in Aftermath of September 11 Tragedy.

In the aftermath of the September terrorist attacks in the United States, Agfa Corporation is among thousands of businesses worldwide providing assistance with the recovery effort.

"Our HealthCare customers, especially the New York and military healthcare facilities that use our medical imaging equipment, were a top concern," said Robert S. "We've bolstered our technical call center, and product support personnel are on heightened alert to ensure that systems remain functional and responsive. Logistics and management teams have increased equipment supplies in the affected areas; we've offered our warehouse in Dayton, New Jersey to Kodak and Fuji. This is a time for us to help one another, not a time to be worried about your competition," he concluded.

Agfa's assistance was provided to the United States Navy's hospital ship USNS Comfort, which is already equipped with Agfa's IMPAX(TM) Basix(TM) and Web1000 Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), ADC(TM) Compact computed radiography (CR) systems, and DRYSTAR(TM) 3000 laser imagers. Agfa's support to the USNS Comfort included donating print media for the DRYSTAR imagers, storage media for the PACS archive, and a thorough preventive maintenance checkup prior to the ship's deployment to Manhattan. Agfa also consigned its EOS(TM) daylight film processor at the Dover Air Force Base mortuary to help identify victims of the suicide airline attack on the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The 436th Medical Group at Dover AFB already has Agfa's IMPAX Basix and ADC Solo CR system in use at the base clinic. Agfa IMPAX systems at the Pentagon clinic and Walter Reed Army Medical Center were used for immediate treatment of victims of the Pentagon attack.

Agfa to Match United Way Contributions to $25,000

Agfa Corporation is also supporting the United Way's nationwide Community Response Fund, which will provide assistance to the families and victims of the September 11th attacks. Employees' contributions to the fund, up to $25,000, will be matched by Agfa.

In addition, Agfa Corporation supported the production of a Memorial Book, entitled On Eagle's Wings, that was given to family members of American Airlines Flight No. 11 and No. 77 flight crews at an October 4, 2001 service organized by the airline. The book was produced and printed by longtime Agfa supplier Bassette Printers, Springfield, MA.
