 today announced that IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  has selected UFST UFST Universal Font Scaling Technology (R) (Universal Font Scaling Technology(R)) as the standard font platform for IBM and IBM subsidiary products. UFST will be integrated into IBM operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. Agfa Monotype's UFST is a robust font scaling technology used in embedded environments such as printers, set-top boxes for home television sets, Internet appliances, smart devices and low-resolution displays. UFST offers OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  partners a higher-performance, lower-ROM cost than alternative font scaling systems, and it's the only solution that utilizes industry-standard trademarked font names and font metrics--preserving the authenticity of the original font data. For printer developers, Agfa Monotype offers application-level font management, PCL (Printer Command Language) The page description language for HP LaserJet printers. It has become a de facto standard used in many printers and typesetters. PCL Level 5, introduced with the LaserJet III in 1990, also supports Compugraphic's Intellifont scalable fonts. (R) and PostScript(R) font compatibility in greatly reduced ROM block sizes.
