Agfa Announces The DuoScan HiD Awarded as the Best Digital Scanner in Europe.

WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2000

Agfa Corporation's Consumer Digital Imaging Group (USA-CDI), a leading provider of award-winning digital cameras and desktop scanners, today announced that the DuoScan HiD was awarded the title of "Best Digital Scanner in Europe" by Technical Image Press Association (TIPA TIPA Triisopropanolamine

). The award is to be presented during Photokina in September 2000 in Cologne Cologne (kəlōn`), Ger. Köln, city (1994 pop. 962,500), North Rhine–Westphalia, W Germany, on the Rhine River. It is a commercial, financial, and industrial center, a rail and road junction, and a river port. , Germany.

In deciding which products should receive this prestigious award, 31 European photography magazine publisher's vote for the most outstanding photo/video/digital products presented to the public within the past 12 months. About the DuoScan HiD

The newest member of the DuoScan family, the DuoScan HiD, features an optical resolution of 1000 x 2000 dpi, 42-bit color depth Same as bit depth.  and Agfa's patented TwinPlate(TM) technology. The DuoScan HiD is designed for professionals who need to capture great color detail within a wide density range - such as photographers, graphic illustrators, photo banks, museum archives, speciality publishers and commercial printers.

With a true 14-bits-per-color depth and a wide dynamic range of 3.7D, the DuoScan HiD scanner captures a high level of image quality, especially in the darkest areas of negatives or positive slides where detail is difficult to capture. The DuoScan HiD also captures even the most difficult colors such as deep reds and blues with remarkable accuracy.
