Internationally recognized Prof. Gerard Medioni, Ph.D., brings video processing and computer vision expertise to the exploding enterprise-grade video analytics market.

NEW YORK -- Agent Video Intelligence, Inc.([TM]), the global leader in enterprise-grade video analytics, today announced that it has appointed Dr. Gerard Medioni, Ph.D., Professor and Chairman at the Department of Computer Science, University of Southern California (USC), to the company's Board of Advisors effective immediately.

Gerard Medioni has been a faculty member at USC since 1983, where he is currently a professor of computer science and electrical engineering, co-director of the Computer Vision Laboratory, and chairman of the Computer Science Department. Medioni was a visiting scientist at INRIA Sophia Antipolis in 1993 and Chief Technical Officer of Geometrix, Inc. during his sabbatical in 2000.

An acknowledged expert in computer vision world, Medioni holds six patents in the areas of video processing and computer vision, with an additional six pending. In addition to authoring "Tensor Voting: A Perceptual Organization Approach to Computer Vision and Machine Learning" (Morgan & Claypool, 2006), "Emerging Topics in Computer Vision" (Prentice Hall, 2004) and "A Computational Framework for Segmentation and Grouping" (Elsevier Publisher, 2000), he has written and published over 100 research works in the areas of computer vision, video analytics, object tracking and related topics.

Medioni received the Diplome d'Ingenieur Civil from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications, Paris, and both a M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Medioni is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE), a fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (IAPR) and a fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Computer Vision, and serves as a scientific advisor to DXO Labs, Rcadia and Perceptronics Solutions in addition to Agent Vi.
