To the speculation regarding Gerald's overall position in the draft and strategy for entering the NBA, Vye said, "I cannot wait to make Gerald available to NBA decision makers so that they can see what type of young man I have the pleasure of representing. We will visit teams currently picking 3-6 in the upcoming draft, while leaving time to account for revisits / interviews as well as teams desiring to move up in the Draft order to have a chance to draft Gerald. If I feel we have a shot at the top two slots, I will make time before the 28th of June to visit them as well. The draft status is rising for the young 6 foot 8 inch phenom who graduated Gulf Shores High School on Saturday, May 28. With a nearly 7-foot wingspan and 44-inch vertical, Gerald wowed audiences winning the McDonald's All-American Dunk Contest March 30. He averaged 33 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists last season, and he shot over 60 percent from 3-point range. His positive attitude, humble nature and work ethic have also made Gerald attractive not only to NBA teams looking to add his athleticism to their roster, but to a host of companies seeking the appeal of this young Slam Dunk Champion and fan-pleaser. Gerald and his family have put a detailed plan in place which they feel will protect his long-term interests, allow him to maximize his abilities as a player and allow for him to obtain his college degree in the future as well.

On the subject of selecting Kauffman Sports Management, Gerald Sr. said, "Andrew Vye has demonstrated the integrity of their firm with Gerald's interests at heart at all times. We feel he is well represented."
