Agencourt Bioscience Expands and Relocates to New World-Class Facility; Governor Romney Joins in Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony.


BEVERLY, Mass. -- Agencourt Bioscience Corporation, a provider of genomic services and nucleic acid nucleic acid, any of a group of organic substances found in the chromosomes of living cells and viruses that play a central role in the storage and replication of hereditary information and in the expression of this information through protein synthesis.  purification products to the life sciences industry, today celebrated the grand opening of its new corporate headquarters in Beverly, MA. Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney joined Agencourt's 80 employees as well as business associates during the ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.

Agencourt's new state-of-the-art facility occupies 30,000 square feet of 500 Cummings Center more than doubling the size of its former facility. A few features of the new cGMP compliant facility include uninterrupted power supply and gas generator back-up allowing complete independence from utility providers and a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) A process control application that collects data from sensors and machines on the shop floor or in remote locations and sends them to a central computer for management and control.  (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (application) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition - (SCADA) Systems are used in industry to monitor and control plant status and provide logging facilities. SCADA systems are highly configurable, and usually interface to the plant via PLCs. ) monitoring system to automatically notify facility's management of any equipment malfunction.
