The Lane County Commission on Children and Families and nonprofit Food for Lane County are teaming up to feed kids all summer.

The agencies will offer free lunches at 59 sites for all county children - regardless of income or race - from Monday through Aug. 19. Books for kids

The Lane Library League and seven public libraries in the county will offer a limited number of free library cards to anyone under age 18 outside the libraries' service boundaries.

The program will run for at least six months and will coincide with summer reading programs at participating libraries.

History of law enforcement

The Lane County Sheriff's Department wants your help in collecting information about its past.

The department is working on its annual report, and will include a section on its history. Material also will be used for an exhibit at the Lane County Historical museum.
