Age didn't affect his aim.

The Evening Times of Arkansas reported on December 28 that the previous night an 80-year-old man defended himself from two robbers even after being shot himself.

The man, Clarence Cochran of Crawfordsville, was in his store, called The Neighborhood Store, when two men entered, and according "to Investigator Thomas Martin with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department ... 'One of the men shot [Cochran], striking him in the abdomen.'" Despite his wound, Cochran then grabbed his own pistol and shot at the robbers, hitting both of them.

One unidentified suspect died at the scene. The other suspect, Antonio Bass, 21, was later identified and captured when he went to a hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds. Bass was charged with aggravated robbery. Cochran was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of his wound.
