AgION Announces Partnerships with Largest Office Supply Companies.

AgION-treated supplies from staplers to keyboards help reduce the growth of bacteria in office and school environments

WAKEFIELD, Mass. -- AgION Technologies Inc., a leading provider of silver-based antimicrobial solutions, has announced an upsurge of interest from companies in the office and school supply industry, including industry leaders and notable companies like Logitech, PaperMate, Stanley Bostitch, C-Line, LiquiMark, Preventa, Samsill, and Office Mate International. AgION is now supplying antimicrobial solutions to at least a dozen companies in this sector. The naturally occurring silver-ion based antimicrobial technology can be found in numerous product lines, and has been proven to inhibit the growth of microbes throughout office and school environments.

"AgION has made a commitment to partner with customers to develop effective antimicrobial solutions based on naturally-occurring silver," said Ginger Merritt, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AgION Technologies, Inc. "Office products provide an ideal application for our technology, as many studies have shown that these objects are often focal points for the growth of bacteria throughout workplaces and schools.

In light of a 2002 study by microbiologist Dr. Charles Gerba of the University of Arizona (body, education) University of Arizona - The University was founded in 1885 as a Land Grant institution with a three-fold mission of teaching, research and public service.  AgION has launched introduced a liquid disinfectant and virucide virucide /vi·ru·cide/ (vi´ru-sid) an agent which neutralizes or destroys a virus.viruci´dal

called SilverClene24TM. Dr. Gerba conducted a study on levels of germs found in offices around the country, and the results were alarming. Dr. Gerba's team measured normal bacteria levels inside offices and findings included the fact that the average desk harbors 20,961 germs per square inch. That is 400 times more than the average toilet seat. The researchers also found that germs can linger on surfaces. Even after 72 hours, 700 viral particles of the cold virus still remained on test surfaces1.It is clear that our partners recognize the importance of using our naturally safe, long-lasting and environmentally-friendly disinfectant silver solutions to protect the consumer from these germs.

In conjunction with the SilverClene24 launch, AgION has partnered with a number of office product supply companies to help reduce the growth of odor causing bacteria across surfaces in office and school environments with its silver antimicrobial. Products include the Samsill CleanTouch[TM] Ring Binders, Logitech[R] Cordless Desktop[R] MX[TM] 3200 Laser, a wireless keyboard-and-mouse combination; Stanley Bostitch Antimicrobial stapler sta·pler 1

AgION's antimicrobial technology provides continuous and long-lasting protection from microbes by releasing silver ions to the surface at a slow and steady rate, while the SilverClene24 technology provides the quick kill of a disinfectant and virucide.
