Afternic.com Accepts ICANN Settlement Proposal, Extraactive Accredited.Business Editors NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 2000 Afternic.com Company Statement: On July 3, 2000, three days prior to scheduled depositions of key ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, www.icann.org) A non-profit, international association founded in 1998 and incorporated in the U.S. It is the successor to IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority), which manages Internet addresses, domain names and the huge number personnel, ICANN's legal counsel contacted Afternic.com's lawyers to discuss the possibility of a last minute settlement of the suit brought by Afternic.com and eXtraActive. It was presented to us that the side letter together with the April 7, 2000 assurances constituted the entire agreement for settlement.
